The Centuries-Old Journey of Porcelain:
Český Porcelán Dubi

The storied history of Český Porcelán Dubi began in the mid-1860s, at the Majolica Ceramic Workshop founded by Anton Tschinkel, a businessman living in Dubí. This humble beginning, over time, transformed elegantly from ceramics to porcelain; in the early 1880s, the first porcelain productions began at the workshop. This step became a significant turning point that shaped the future of the brand. As in every journey of success, this adventure also faced a difficult test, and the great economic crisis of the late 1880s forced Tschinkel to sell his factory to the German firm O.C. Teuchert, located near Meissen. This period also marked the beginning of an era when the brand embraced its iconic onion pattern (Zwiebelmuster) and was enriched with cobalt decorations. These elegant patterns are still considered the indispensable signature of Český Porcelán Dubi today.

After ten years, Dubí, as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, being subordinate to Vienna, brings with it customs problems. This situation results in the factory being handed over to industrialist Bernard Bloch. In 1938, the factory came under the administration of the German Empire, and in 1945, under the Czech State. With the privatization process in 1991, the factory gained an independent identity under the name "Český porcelán akciová společnost Dubí". In 2009, it further enriched its artistic production by merging with Royal Dux, a company dating back to 1853 and specializing in the production of figural and decorative porcelain. Today, the Royal Dux brand has become a name appreciated worldwide for its elegant designs and superior quality.

Český Porcelán Dubi has been awarded the prestigious "Rodinné stříbro" (Family Silver) award in the Czech Republic and has successfully been among the top 100 companies in the country for eight years. Having received the "100 Most Admired Companies of the Czech Republic" diploma seven times and the international "Golden Trophy" quality award three times, the brand has solidified its global reputation.Today, Český Porcelán Dubi is a global brand that, inspired by its deep-rooted past, brings together elegance and art with modern lines.
